I don’t have any great philosophical statement to make about why I create my art. I paint what I like and make a comment on that in my interpretation of the subject matter, I prefer to paint themes that evolve from my dreams, personal experiences, historical and current events.
I do not concern myself with perspective or size as it relates to other objects in the painting, nor do I have a single point of interest. It is the whole painting that is the point of interest.
It is my believe that a painting should make a visual comment that should incite the art of conversation. Some of my artistic comments are politically or socially motivated, but they are based primarily on what intrigues me at that particular moment in time.
I do not make any preliminary drawings or plan my painting in advance, nor do I transfer any pre-designed drawing on to the canvas. My subject matter comes to me as I paint.
Should at a later date not like what I have previously painted, well then I just paint over the old. In with the new subject matter.
